Stella Hues collection by designer Stella Maze, fuses authentic Italian tradition with the exotic luxuries of the Virgin Islands, and a nod to classic British influence. Inspired by the mystique, translucent blues of the Caribbean waters, each shoe is finished with patented hues of blue on the inner and outer sole. Handcrafted in Italy, the label represents class, edge and sophistication for those who fancy quality. Eager to turn passion into a career, Stella skillfully sewed herself into the NYC fashion circuit. Style maker and business women Melissa Evins invited Stella to intern alongside her and brother Reed Evins at the Reed Evins Design studio. Widely recognized for their illustrious clientele and custom creations, Reed Evins Design is also revered as the only American brand given the prestigious license to manufacture Hermès footwear. Now gaining hands on experience under the wing of elite manufactures, Stella became seasoned on catering to the intricate construction of extravagant footwear. Stella Maze, born Athnia Wendy Jack, is a British footwear visionary from Road Town, Tortola.

Growing up in a family of fishermen, Stella spent most of her youth navigating the shimmery blue waters, of the British Virgin Islands assisting with the family business. Her mother was a highly sought seamstress known for her lavish one of a kind pieces and elegant stitching. Stella loved watching her mother transform fine garments into stunning dresses. After turning 18, she joined the US army where she would sketch to occupy her free time. While enlisted, her creative abilities and appreciation for fashion cultivated. A year later, Stella returned home from serving her country. Shortly after, she was ready to excel beyond the sandy beaches. Her excitement for the arts and entrepreneurial spirit, led her to NYC. At Fashion Footwear Association of New York’s 2011 tradeshow, Stella became acquainted footwear expert and Giraffe Walk woven shoe owner, David Aaron Sinskin. Dazzled by Stella’s ambitious attitude, David decided to mentor the budding designer. For two years David took her on as an understudy in technical design, occasionally he commissioned her to design for his label and high profile clients.

To complete her quest for knowledge, Stella went to study the luxury aspect of the business with one of Italy’s foremost shoe designers and makers at Maestro Factory. Learning the art of shoe making from ideation to completion from a master Italian Cobbler. Stella’s enthusiasm and fascination with the industry led her to creating fashion-forward styles, reminiscent of past timeless designs. After assembling the right relationships and education in the shoe production, Stella established her label, Stella Hues.  In February 2014, the esteemed Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York recognized Stella Hues ” Levy ” & “Rochelle” Non skid Suede Bleu Bottom Sandals as best new innovative product on the runway. Then the “Nicola” over-the-knee, Nappa leather boots as one of the best gladiator styles to hit the runway for F/W 2015.  The signature “bleu bottom” heels received high-profile recognition and praise. Harper’s Bazaar Singapore featured Stella Hues on “The Power List” In their August 2015 print issue, solidifying the rising Italian shoe house as “one to watch”.  In 2016 Stella Hues opened NYFW with a bang powered by Getty Images with an interesting theme of A “Bleu Valentines meets Stella in Wonderland ” Tea Party Exhibit at the Prestigious Bo Concepts in Soho . The shoes also appear on the front cover of NY Post for pre-exhibit Miami Art Basel 2016.
